• Dr. Ivan Corbeski is currently a Oberassistent in the Caflisch group.

    Mission Statement:

Ivan obtained his diploma in biochemistry with distinction in 2014 from the Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. For his PhD in structural biology, he moved to the Netherlands to work as Marie Curie Fellow in the PhD programme “ManiFold” at the Bijvoet Center for Biomolecular Research of the Utrecht University where he obtained his PhD in 2019. His doctoral research was focused on the structural and functional characterization of histone chaperones culminating in the determination of the first structure of a histone chaperone-bound histone octamer. He then worked as a postdoc at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria on a protein machinery involved in transcription regulation.
Ivan joined the Caflisch group as a postdoc in October 2021 to study the mechanisms of proteins involved in epitranscriptomics as potential anti-cancer drug targets. In his free time, he enjoys running, watching documentaries, and learning languages.

Dr. Ivan Corbeski has been a member of the Caflisch group from 10/2021 - current.
